Garden Grove Tree Service for Fullerton

Fullerton is a city in Orange County with a population of 140,000 people.  It's 22 square miles, was incorporated in 1887, and has a very rich history.

Petroleum exploration started in 1880 after the Brea-Olinda Oil Field was discovered. This led to a drilling boom that lasted until the 1920s. This employment boom further led to local building development which reflected Italian Renaissance and Spanish Colonial style architecture like the famed Fox Theater and the Plummer Auditorium and clock tower.  Other notable structures include Fullerton College, built in 1913. The 40 years from 1910 to 1950 was the golden age, where innovative building stylings and creative and yet elegant architectural designs were everpresent in and around the area. Huge open works ventures were built during this period, including the transformation of a southwestern sewer ranch into the Municipal Airport at the command of Placentia farmers and pilots William and Robert Dowling in 1927.

Following the great depression, the convergence of big industry, a weak farming economy, and cheap land development greatly altered the normally quiet way of life. The economy later moved away from food production and into food processing as well as manufacturing when the southeastern part of the city became an industrial center.  Val Vita Food Products, now ConAgra Foods, Inc., started a citrus juice plant in western Fullerton in 1932. By 1941 it had become the biggest food handling organization in the US.  In 1934, A.W. Leo, Tom Yates and Ralph Harrison invented the first Hawaiian Punch formula in a garage.  The city also became a producer of laboratory instruments, electrical and electronic components, navigation systems, and aerospace equipment.  Fullerton is home to California State University Fullerton, one of the 12 California State Universities with a student body of 40,000.
